It should be a dark and quiet night, but it’s far from that. He had seen it from his penthouse’s balcony: the Minior falling en masse from the sky. There’s dozens upon dozens of them, perhaps even hundreds. Countless. They fall as they had last year during the meteor shower, but Mars is sure he has never seen this many of them gathering in one place.

What had compelled him to come?

His own colourful Minior surround him, staying close as they watch their brethren fall. His own are unharmed despite their exposed cores – protected by spending most of their time in the confines of Luxury Balls.

He has always liked the species, and because he has, he knows that most of the Minior here will soon die if nothing is done. There’s something sad about that notion: that these pokémon are among the first victims of the meteor.

His Beheeyem had ensured him it was an impressive sight; countless Minior falling from the sky. He'd heard some Pokemon might start acting strange with the meteor coming near, and an odd species like Minior would be no different.

Were they forced out of the sky, or falling of their own will?

Pondering upon that question would have to wait, though: as awestruck as they may have been from the phenomena, those Minior were coming down.

Some towards them.

Uh oh~~, sisters.~~

Hideo was quick to take out another Pokeball, letting out his shelled Goodra. "Goopy, give us some cover!" he ordered, the Goodra hurriedly retreating into its shell and providing Shelter for the boy and his Beheeyem.

It would have to do, the two taking cover as they heard the Minior hurtling down. It would prove to be enough, the steel shell providing enough protection, even as Hideo could feel each impact on the shell.

It'd all be over soon, at least. With them all still alive. "Arceus, I hope nobody else got caught on that…"

Minior fall. One after another, after another. From the ground, he watches them, surrounded by his own Meteor Pokémon. Those around him spin, DEFENSE CURL protecting them. It won’t be enough, though.

When a few Minior fall too close for his liking, it’s from a Luxury Ball that Mars releases a Gallade, casting a WIDE GUARD that even goes as far as reaching the Goodra’s sheltering shell. It’s then that Mars notices it, and consequently, the boy that hides with it.

Golden eyes narrow.

Is that Hideo Kino?

He walks over to where the dragon waits, trusting his Gallade’s defense to hold against the sudden meteor shower.

Hideo could hear the *tink* each time a Minior struck his Goodra's shell. A few of them even sounded like their rocky shelling shattered on impact, though none of the shards reached him.

With little else to do than listen and wait it out, Hideo was quick to notice when the falling Miniors sounded like they were hitting something further away, and the sudden lack of impacts on the shell.

Then the voice. It was a familiar one, but it took a reminder from his Beheeyem to remember who it belonged to.

"Mars?"

It had been a while since the two had met - their chance encounter while walking through a route. Seemed to be the case once again.

Maybe their connection to the Lake Trio drew them together, somehow?

"Yeah, I'm doing alright. The weather guy didn't say we'd be getting a Minior Shower, but I think I got it handled." Not that he minded the additional assistance from whatever Pokemon Mars had out.

"Been a bit since I saw you." Joke intended, hinted by his small grin after saying that. "How've you been holding up? With the meteor coming and all that?"
